Born in Rome, Paolo graduated in Vocal Arts at “L. D’Annunzio” Conservatoire in Pescara and he also studied with Ezio Di Cesare.

His career begins with the debut as Malatesta in Don Pasquale with William Matteuzzi and Sylvia Greenberg conducted by Roberto Abbado for the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, later he was Schaunard in La bohème at La Scala in Milan conducted by Gianandrea Gavazzeni Franco Zeffirelli's production.

He sang in the most important Italian theatres and festivals such as Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, Opera in Rome, San Carlo in Naples, Carlo Felice in Genoa, La Scala in Milan, Comunale in Bologna, Regio in Turin, La Fenice in Venice, Massimo in Palermo, Arena in Verona, Sferisterio in Macerata.

He has established himself as a critically acclaimed and complete performer on the Italian operatic stages, well known for his commanding stage presence, highly developed sense of comedy and reliability in an extensive repertoire, just to mention some roles Sagrestano in Tosca, Mathieu in Andrea Chenier, Dancaïre in Carmen, Silvano in Un ballo in maschera, Hortensius in Fille du régiment, Schaunard in La bohème, Beaupertuis in Il cappello di paglia di Firenze, Yamadori in Madama Butterfly, Marullo in Rigoletto.

He took part to several tournée with Teatro Comunale di Bologna as Hortensius in La fille du régiment hosted by Savonlinna Opera Festival, as Sagrestano in Tosca with Teatro Massimo di Palermo at Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, with Teatro Regio di Torino in La traviata at Staatstheater in Wisbaden and in Guillaume Tell in Edinburgh, New York, Chicago, Toronto.

Among recent engagements: Un ballo in maschera in Bologna; La bohème in Brescia, Cremona, Como, Pavia and Reggio Emilia; Paolo in Simon Boccanegra in Bordeaux; Rigoletto in Palermo staged by John Turturr; Andrea Chénier in Genoa; La traviata, Madama Butterfly and Rigoletto in Turin; La rondine and Madama Butterfly in Naples.

In 2022/23: La traviata with ROHM in Muscat, Madama Butterfly and Tosca at Teatro Comunale in Bologna; Madama Butterfly in Naples.
